Medway Area Sunday League round-up (03/04/22)

Division Four leaders AFC Shorne are one point away from lifting the title.

Shorne defeated Pegasus 81 - who started the day in second - 5-0 on Sunday, with goals from Aman Gill (2), Kieran Wells, Phil Reeves and Jack Clover.

They now lead second-placed Medway Knights, who have three games left to play, by nine points.

Knights ran out 4-2 winners against Bredhurst Juniors United. Graeme Barnes (2), Nathan Young and Rowan Luchman proved too much for Joe Cutone and Jayke Phillips.

Aaron Parkes (3), Sam Clarkson, Richard Cobern and Gary Edkins ensured the points for The Stag, who went third with a 6-2 win against Thamesview Rangers. Jake Griffiths and Chris Lichfield replied for Rangers.

London Road drew 1-1 with The Stumble, Joseph White their goal-scorer with Reif Youdale replying for The Stumble.

Steve Batt, Jack O’Neil and Ben James were on target in Milton & Fulston Zebras' 3-2 victory over Medway Sport XI, for whom Jordan Lorentson bagged twice.

Two games in Division 3 both went to form. Jordan Cook and Liam Baker led Rainham Eagles to a 2-1 triumph over Your Move Chatham, who replied through Liam Green.

Josh Baker and Aaron Towner were on target for Rochester Eagles in their 2-1 win over Fleur-De-Lis, whose reply came from Ryan Clark.

Swale Madrid drew level on points with leaders Cliffe Woods Colts Reserves in Division 2 after beating them in a top-of-the-table clash.

Madrid won 2-1 courtesy of Charley Davies' brace, Taylor Fraser replied for the visitors.

It means Cliffe lead the way on goal difference and have five games left to play, Madrid have just four matches remaining.

Caleb Ofoke (7), Ife Famoriyo (4), Sam Akinnowa (2), Charlie Field, Oreofe Paul Jones, Danny Haley and Joseph Sanyalou all netted in Anchorians United's 17-0 thrashing of Medway United Central.

Harry Whitehead (2), Brendon Gilbert, Dylan Lockyer, Jordan Whealen, Stuart Shilling and Jamie Blackham were all on target as Cantium ran out 7-2 winners against Bredhurst Juniors.

Kent Marina 19 lost 8-0 to The Walnut Tree. Billy Cobb, Ben Silvester (2), Chun Yuen Sing (3) and Neal Parkes (2) were all on the scoresheet.

In Division 1, Harvey Sanderson and Ryan Tripp led Omega 92 to a 2-0 win at ASK Medway.

Kieren Stannard (2), Jack Norris and Jack Burnham all found the net in Cliffe Woods Colts A's 4-2 victory over Anchorians Athletic with Mark Burley and Taylor Tuck-Brown netting in reply.

Doubles for Jez Hammond and Ross Wornham, with other goals from Matt Gillen, Jamie Gillen, Luqman Odesina and Dan Bigg helped leaders High Halstow to an 8-0 victory over basement side Cross Park.
