Medway Area Sunday League round-up (09/03/25)

New Road Athletic will play Wigmore Wanderers in the Junior League Trophy final.

Athletic overcame Medway United 3-2 thanks to Ronny Whittaker, Lee Pearce and Steve Batt in their semi-final. Brandon Berry replied with both goals for Medway United.

Wigmore Wanderers won 3-1 on penalties against Woodcoombe to reach the final.

In the Junior Charity Cup quarter-finals, Hempstead United lost 4-0 to Rainham 84 with Tyler Boreham, Dean Hodges, Ashton Canty and Charlie Simmonds on the scoresheet.

Woodpecker reached the semi-finals after beating Real 60 3-1 thanks to Ross Wornham and Jack Dye (2).

Premier Division Quested hit six goals without reply against Chatham Town SR. Preston Kedwell (2), Brad Scaffer, James Alderman, Sam Stace and a Gary Cairns penalty were their marksmen.

Cuxton 91 and Springhead Park shared the points in a 2-2 draw as Harrison Teale and Jamie Dray goals for Cuxton were matched by Ben Cable and Connor Baldock.

Richard Gregory scored the Wigmore goal in their 5-1 loss to Medway Invicta, whose goals came from Samuel Shobande (2), Adriano Anglin, Ajo Jimoh and Matthew Thomas.

In Division 1, Athletic Bilbowls won 5-1 against Eagles with goals from Reif Youdale (3), Jordan Burton and Ayrton Silvester.

A brace from Mitch Smith plus a Fin Lumpkin goal led Medway Sportage to a 3-2 win against FC Catalans.

Lloyd James claimed both goals for Anchorians Athletic in their 2-1 win at Riverside Academy.

A game of 11 goals in Division 2 saw Sporting Club Libra win 6-5 against Bredhurst, Ryan Capon (3), Brett Taylor and Tom Denny (2) were their marksmen.

Cliffe Woods Colts A had their first win of the season by beating table toppers Strood 3-1 thanks to Aaron Brookes, Connor Young and Jordan Friend.

Robert Davies and George Baker were on target for The Walnut Tree in their 2-1 win against ASK Medway as Josh Waters replied.

Westfield Sole and AEI Sports played out a goalless draw.

In Division 3, Eagles Gold and Pegasus 81 drew 1-1 as Callum Smith’s goal for Eagles was matched by Jack Watkin-Everitt.

There was an own goal from each side as Rochester Eagles drew 1-1 with Kent Marina.

Chris Jackson, Glen Martin and Ryan Foot netted in The Stumble’s 3-1 win over Omega 92 with Lee Gambell replying for Omega 92.

In Division 4, Hempstead Valley and Hayden Youth Association finished 1-1, Daniel Snashall scored for Valley with Tom Noctor replying for the visitors.

Jesse Creasey hit the lone strike for Palmerston Athletic in their 2-1 loss to Rochester Eagles Reserves, whose goals came from Ryan Cox and Liam Basham.

Bredhurst Juniors won 3-1 at River with goals from Louis Compton, Michel Witney and Callum Leonard. Leon Mitchell replied for River.

In Division 5, Lloydie Pennant (2), Charlie Hetterley and Jack Jewell led Deagal to a 4-1 victory over The Gentlemen, who replied through Freddy Gardener.

Medway United West lost 3-0 to Springhead Park Reserves, who had Bryn Passey (2) and Aaron Jones on the scoresheet.
