Medway Area Sunday League round-up (14/04/25)

Medway Sportage moved a step closer to claiming the Division 1 title on Sunday.

They won 4-0 at Eagles with a hat-trick from Caleb Dyche and Aaron Lorentson completing the scoring.

Springhead Park moved up to fifth in the Premier Division won 2-1 against Cuxton 91 with goals from Ainsley Linton and Ben Cable. Cuxton 91’s reply came from Jamie Dray.

The Walnut Tree remain hot on the heels of leaders Strood after both sides picked up wins in Division 2.

The Walnut Tree won 5-3 against Eccles Sunday, for whom David Hunt (2) and Steve Armstrong were on target.

Sporting Club Libra were thrashed 12-0 by Strood with Leyton Davis, Ronnie Gerdler, Josh Brown (2), Louie Shepherd (2), Tom Bennett, Jack Bunter, Billy Cane Young, Shane Balderstone, Fraser Jennings and Alfie Montague all on the scoresheet.

AEI Sports won the first game of their double header against ASK Medway 4-0 with doubles by Adam Browning and Jordan Herbert-Smith.

They won the second game 2-1 with goals from Mo Kamara and Daryl Herbert-Smith while Jack Thompson replied for Medway.

Pegasus 81 were held to a 3-3 draw by The Stumble in Division 3. Glen Martin (2) and Jordan Reynolds scored for The Stumble with Swayze Whale (2) and Louie Garlinge replying for Pegasus 81.

Tobi Sam and Nick Boyle netted in Hempstead United’s 6-2 loss to Eagles Gold, for whom Egan Sharp, Stanley Barness, Riley Beaumont, Callum Smith, Cains Sales and Callum Marshall were on target.

In Division 4, Hempstead Valley went down 11-0 to Bredhurst Juniors whose goals came from Mitchell Wilson, Danny Proctor, Kane Westall (2), Sam Russel, Louis Crompton (2), Ellis Stirton, Jordan Morris, Paul Stock and Matthew Smith.

New Road Athletic and Wigmore Wanderers shared the points as the first game of their double header finished 2-2. Danny Davies scored both goals for New Road Athletic, with Charlie Ivey and James Lundie replying for the visitors.

Wigmore lost 3-2 to New Road Athletic in the second game with George Alp and Liam Apps their marksmen. Steve Batt, Pierson Timmons and Danny Solari scored for New Road Athletic.

Hayden Youth Association thrashed Palmerston Athletic 11-0 with seven different goal-scorers in Ollie Noctor, Cam Williams, Alfie Williams (3), Frankie Mason (2), George Nash (2), Charlie Muttett and Jacob Cripps.

A Rhys Johnson penalty was not enough as River lost 2-1 to new leaders Eagles Reserves, who scored through Liam Basham and an own goal.

In Division 5, a Harry Bradbury goal was not enough as Medway United West went down 3-1 to The Simon Massive, whose goals came from Jack Mercer and Hayden Gamiersmall (2).

Charlie Moody netted in Walderslade WMC Reserves’ 1-1l draw with The Gentlemen, whose goal came from Kris Hrabe.

Joseph Broad claimed the lone strike in Woodcoombe’s 4-1 defeat to The Coop Cobras, for whom Jon Joe Langley with a hat-trick and Micheal Santangelo netted.

In the Andy Groves Memorial Cup sixth round, Cliffe Woods Colts A had a great 4-0 win against higher opposition in Medway Invicta thanks to Michael Odrscall (2), Jack Burnham and Malachi Benjamin.

Bryn Passey and Bradley Goldstone scored the goals in Springhead Park Reserves’ 3-2 loss to Black Eagles Athletic, who scored through Ash Trigg (2) and Henry McGuinness.
