Striker Ashley Nadesan has completed a permanent move to Sutton after being released by Gillingham.
Nadesan, who spent last season on loan with the U’s, has signed a one-year deal at the National League club, with the option to extend for another 12 months.
“It’s good to get it over the line,” Nadesan, 30, told Sutton’s website.
“I had a nice conversation with the gaffer (Steve Morison) the other day about what he expects and I’m looking forward to getting going.
“I know the club well now, I know the players and staff, [and] the style of football that the gaffer and Jon Meeney (assistant manager) want to play.
“I think that persuaded me the most and, obviously, with the conversation with the gaffer [about] what he wants to do next season.”
Nadesan joined Gillingham from Crawley two years ago, scoring the winner in a 1-0 success at Sutton in the opening weeks of the 2023/24 season.
That was one of only three goals in 34 Gills appearances for the forward, who has also played for Fleetwood and Carlisle.
But he was a virtual ever-present for Sutton last season, where his impressive form included late winners against Ebbsfleet, play-off finalists Southend and Rochdale.
Nadesan also scored a goal-of-the-season contender against AFC Fylde as the U’s finished 12th in their first campaign back in non-league following three years in League 2.
