I finished last weekend’s game with the captain’s armband and it is an honour to wear it every time.

I have loved having it at whatever club I have been at but here, with how I have done and how I get on with the fans, it is even more of an honour because I am doing it for them.

I don’t know if I will get it at the weekend but am just going about my business and doing my job as best as I can. If I get the armband then happy days and if I don’t, then I don’t.

I would prefer not to have it all and John or Lofty to be fit. If either of them aren’t fit and the armband comes my way, I will take it with open arms.

It doesn’t really matter who is the captain, though. I trust all of my team-mates and for me it is the three points and trying to get into the top two. We aren’t far off it and need to get back at it.

We are playing another team fighting for their lives this weekend in Chesterfield.

The conditions played a big part in the game at Oldham on Saturday but in the first half we dealt with it. We dominated them.

They had a few chances but they were the home team and scrapping for survival.
We expected to have a bit of pressure. I wasn’t going to go away from home and have nothing to do.

The chances they had, you would expect. Territory-wise, I would say we were in their final third more than they were in ours.

We were pretty happy at half-time and that is how we need to be playing week in, week out.
