Chatham Town are out of the promotion race but determined to end their season on a high.
Last weekend’s 1-0 home defeat to Chichester City ended a nine-game unbeaten run in the Isthmian Premier Division and also ended their slim chances of gatecrashing the play-offs.
Chats had made a late surge for a top-five place, and the manager sees their final home game against Cray Valley as a chance to thank their fans for their support during a season of ups and downs.
Prior to that, Kevin Hake’s men face Hendon away on Saturday.
Hake said: “We’re approaching the final stretch of the season and Hendon is going to be a tough game.
“They are fighting for their lives and know a win puts them in a great position to stay up.
“Bank Holiday Monday’s game against Cray Valley is a chance for us, as players and staff, to say a proper thank you to all of those who’ve backed us all season.
“Your support has been immense, and we want to show our appreciation in the right way.
“We’d love to see the stands full one last time this season.
“After the final whistle, the players will be sticking around and will be available for photos, autographs, and a chat with anyone who wants one.”

Chatham missed out on promotion in the play-offs last season but haven’t been able to make the same challenge this time around.
They still came close to winning some silverware last week, however, but they were beaten by Billericay Town in the final of the Velocity Cup, losing to a stoppage-time goal.
Hake, in a message to the fans, said: “We know we haven’t hit every target this year, but your backing never wavered—and that has only made us more determined to keep working hard to bring more success to the Bauvill.”
