Sam Weedon put theory into practice to land a lovely mirror carp

The coronavirus has had far reaching effects to all aspects of angling and like other sports coaching and teaching has felt the effect.

Warren White, an angling coach who works with schools and mental health groups, sent me an e-mail explaining what he had done to try to keep his students busy in these unprecedented times.

He chose to use Facetime to keep the lessons ongoing, lots of the teaching by design is practical, but it was possible to allow students the chance to take their level one to six awards.

Sam has achieved the Angling Trust's skills awards levels one to three so is well on his way. Well done young man and well done Warren for keeping your students virtually fishing!

If you've got a catch worth showing off you can email wesleyshrubsole@gmail.com
