Chatham climbed up to 10th in the table and head to Whitehawk this Saturday.

Goalscorer Garlinge was one of several young players in the team.

Manager Kevin Hake said: “The boys continued their good run of form beating a spirited Hastings team.

“It was nice to keep a clean sheet and move up the table to a more respectable position.

“We made a few changes and rotated the squad to keep things fresh.

“We had six teenagers who got on the pitch and it was great for one of them, Kian, to open the scoring.”

Coming off the bench to make his debut was Trevon Bryan who has joined Chatham from Bolton Wanderers’ B team.

The forward had previously been a youth player at Burnley.

“He looked a handful when he came on,” said the Chats boss.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Hake added: ““We now look to Saturday where we play Whitehawk who have been magnificent under their new manager.

“It’s always tough down there but thankfully we should have the full squad to choose from.”
