Booking is now open for the KM Assault Course Challenge.

The challenge provides a great opportunity for individuals of all abilities to raise money for their favourite good causes, test themselves, and get the adrenaline and lactic acid flowing in a beautiful rural location.

But the emphasis is very much on fun: while there will be prizes for the best fancy dress outfit and biggest fundraiser, there will be no trophy for the fastest team as the challenge is not a race.

Teams’ times, however, will be monitored and published to enable them to compare their performance with that of previous years.

The challenge takes place at Betteshanger Park near Deal on Sunday, May 5.

Event coordinator Dominic Comins said: “While I very much don’t want to tempt fate, spring is here and it is officially time to head for the great outdoors.

“And what better excuse for doing so than this fun and challenging event at beautiful Betteshanger Park?

“So embrace your inner mudder, join us at the KM Assault Course Challenge and have some good dirty fun while raising some money for your favourite good cause.”

Teams of six will tackle 19 obstacles, including tunnels, balance beams, the rope walk, water jumps and the tyre wall.

They will be treated to a walk-through of the obstacles with an instructor prior to taking on the course. On average, the course takes between 12 and 20 minutes to complete.

Teams will have to work together and communicate effectively to contend, and the challenge provides a great team-building exercise for businesses and other organisations.

Registration costs £85 per team, but a £10 discount is available when teams use the booking code KMNews19.

All sponsorship money teams raise will be split 70/30 between their chosen charities and the KM Charity Team’s road safety services for children. It is suggested that teams aim to raise a minimum of £400, and

Participants must be aged over 14.
