The Medway heat of the Big Quiz takes place at the St George Hotel in Chatham on Friday, March 6, so teams have just over three weeks to confirm their participation.

The money generated by the quiz and sales from Shepherd Neame’s Spitfire bar will be shared by KM Media Group charities of the year the YMCA and Abigail’s Footsteps and the KM Charity Team – helping to fund the latter’s green-travel and literacy work with schools across Kent.

Quiz coordinator Hannah Hawkswroth said: “Thank you so much to Shepherd Neame for yet again providing the drinks for the Big Quiz bar.

“Their involvement is so key to the success of what is always a great night out.

“And I would urge anyone considering booking a table to make sure they do so before last orders: there’s now only weeks left till the quiz takes place.”

Teams can book tables for up to eight people, which cost £65.

Besides qualifying with the nine best runner-up teams for the Big Quiz county final, the winner of the Medway heat will also receive a cash prize generated by £5 of the cost of reserving each team table and a hamper of goodies donated by the Southern Co-op.

A fundraising raffle will also give contestants the chance to win a Hornby gift set and a special DFDS voucher enabling up to nine people with one vehicle to enjoy a free return Channel crossing.

The quiz is also supported by Specsavers, Office Angels and IMP Studio & Live.
