Mark Burton and his family from Deal will get the fun under way at the event, which is being held at Betteshanger Park – a few miles down the road from their home.

And with days left until it takes place on Sunday, June 9, there is still time left – just – to book your place.

There are a limited number of non-fundraising places still available, and families, groups of friends or individuals can take part with no obligation to generate any cash for charity if they click the just-for-fun option when booking at www.kmcharityteam.co.uk/challenge/colour-run.

Participants will complete a 5km route while being covered head to toe in multicoloured powder.

The challenge is supported by key partner Specsavers, and the entry fee is £20 for adults and £12 for children aged four to 16; children under four go free.

Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult runner, and there is a £5 discount for adults when using the booking code KMNews19.

The price includes a limited edition KM Colour Run T-shirt, sunglasses, a small bag of coloured powder to throw over other participants, and a medal on completion.

Spectators can purchase additional bags of coloured powder on the day and join in the fun by throwing it over participants.

Mr Burton and his family will join the kmfm street team at the run’s starting line, and then man a colour station, from where they will throw coloured powder all over the runners.

They won the kmfm competition after submitting the best message to encourage other people to take part in the event.

Mr Burton’s message said: “Well I thought long and hard and, to be honest, there’s not much I’m gonna say, really.

“I could waffle on about the amazing venue I’ve been going to before it was even open, the number of times I’ve fallen off my bikes in the woods, or the beautiful family picnics and fun days out we’ve had here but, no, I wouldn’t want to mention that!

“We’re all here to have fun, raising money and all that, but if you really need any inspiration, just look at all the smiles, and giggles throughout the day especially those of my kids, who have been coming here before they were even born!”
