The course, delivered by KM Charity Team chief executive Simon Dolby on Tuesday November 13, will focus on how organisations can get the most out of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. It is designed for people with beginner or intermediate-level experience.

It will cover setting up social media pages; managing and providing content; planning, targeting and nurturing social media contacts; integrating social media with other activities; and measuring impact.

In addition to founding the KM Charity Team, Simon Dolby worked as a journalist for more than 20 years, winning a range of media industry awards.

Mr Dolby said: “Social media has transformed the way organisations do business and how the public interact with them.

“There are so many advantages to using social media to communicate: it is cheap, enables you to get instant, real-time feedback, can be done at any time and from any place, and you can use it to help finesse messages for specific groups and individuals.

“But some people convince themselves that it is in some way impenetrable or inappropriate. And there are risks that can lead to damage to your reputation that can be difficult to repair.

“This course is designed to put businesses and charities on the road to social media success.”

The training will take place between 9.30am and 12.30pm at the KM Charity Team offices at 10 Estuary View, Whitstable.

The course costs £60, and the price includes tea and coffee at welcome and break, and a sandwich platter lunch. To take advantage of a special £15 discount, use the discount code KMNEWS18.
