Kent brewer Shepherd Neame will be rolling out its barrels for the KM Big Charity Quiz on Friday, February 15 – and there’s still time to book a team.

For the past 15 years the brewery has donated a fully-stocked charity bar for each of the four Big Quiz heats - staged by the KM Charity Team in Medway, Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury - helping to raise more than £30,000 for charity every year.

This year the Medway heat of the Big Quiz will take place at The St George Hotel on New Road Avenue, Chatham.

Barclays bank will match every penny spent at the Spitfire bar so every time someone buys a drink they will be making a double charitable donation.

Funds raised will benefit the Medway Messenger newspaper’s charity of the year Net Community Hub along with services supporting child literacy and road safety, plus one charity chosen via prize draw.

Moray Neame, communications executive at Shepherd Neame, said: “We are very proud to support such a popular charity fundraising event.”

Simon Dolby, CEO of the KM Charity Team, said: “The Spitfire bar plays a huge role in the success of the Big Quiz, ensuring a much-needed windfall for local charities.

“I would urge friends, families and businesses to sign up teams for the Big Quiz now. You’re guaranteed to have a great night out while making a real difference to Medway causes.”

Other key partners of the event include Office Angels, whose temps will act as runners, and Independent Music Productions which supplies and operates the PA system.

There will be a raffle featuring Hornby collectables, and any organisation entering a minimum of three teams will be presented with a prize for their best-performing group.

One quizzer selected at random will have the chance to win a £150 DFDS Seaways voucher in the timed ‘Win in 10’ mini-game.

The winning team will secure a place in the county final where they’ll take on Kent’s brainiest quiz teams in a bid for the champions’ trophy.

Book a team of up to eight people at www.KmBigQuiz.co.uk and use the discount code KMNEWS19. Price includes a generous selection of snacks, a bottle of wine and fizzy water for the table.
