This term schools have another chance to sign up to Buster’s Book Club which encourages children to read at home for pleasure and sets challenges that can earn classes leisure attraction tickets and visits by celebrity storytellers.

This week staff from Specsavers were out on the High Street meeting shoppers and giving out Buster’s Book Club brochures to encourage schools to get involved.

The information leaflets sport the new-look logo for the educational charity Inspire Schools, which also trades in Kent as KM Charity Team. The charity will celebrate its 20th anniversary this academic year and shoppers got a first look at the new branding.

Simon Dolby, the charity’s founder, said: “Everyone at Buster’s Book Club is delighted at the support Specsavers is giving to us to help boost reading levels in Kent’s primary schools. Both frontline staff and directors of Specsavers have been passionate supporters of our work for almost a decade. We are so grateful.”

Pupils in the county are being challenged to collectively read more than one million minutes this academic year through Buster’s Book Club.
