A third of us are planning to move house soon, a survey has found.

Four out of five people hope to make a move within the next two years, the Kent Property Market Survey 2018 found.

Two-thirds of us would consider a brand new property, while almost all of us (91%) aspire to purchase a house rather than a flat.

Some 36% thought house prices would rise by 2.5 % this year, with 18% thinking the rise would be higher.

When selling a home, the most important criteria for choosing an estate agent was a reputation for being trustworthy, with more than 80% of respondents citing this as their main consideration. Next up were a friendly and helpful manner and an ability to achieve the best prices.

Of those that responded to the online survey, 38% owned their own home, with a mortgage, while a lucky 33% owned their own home mortgage free.
