Horsted Park development, Chatham

New parents Niksha and Ritesh Patel used the Help to Buy scheme to purchase their first home, a four-bedroom house at Countryside’s Horsted Park development, Chatham.

And with so much space and room to grow, Ritesh’s parents have moved in too.

Niksha, 28, a pharmacist, says: “Ritesh works in London, so still wanted to live near a station for him to have an easy commute. We also wanted a new build to save money on energy bills.

“Countryside informed us about the Help to Buy scheme, which meant we could increase our budget. Without it, we probably would have still been searching.

“We loved the idea that no one has lived in this house before – it was all ours.

“We have enough bedrooms and space for the future, especially if we have a brother or sister for Tiya.

“We are so pleased we could afford this larger home, which meant Ritesh’s parents could continue living with us. Staying together as a family is important to us.”

Prices for four-bedroom homes at Horsted Park start from £370,000.
