Gearing up for Jobs Fair

A LARGE variety of organisations will be taking part in Job Fair 2002 from Monday, February 11, to Wednesday, February 13, at the Chequers Shopping Centre in Maidstone.

The fair will be located throughout all three floors of the centre and will have a wide cross-section of employers offering full-time and part-time work.

The event is geared towards anyone looking for a fresh challenge or returning to work after a career break, the unemployed, school and college leavers and anyone who might be interested in training.

Town centre manager, David Spink, who is organising the fair, said: "Unemployment is down to almost nothing in Maidstone. Although naturally we will also be catering for the unemployed, the main reason we're hosting the Job Fair is that a lot of people who are already in work simply don't have time to go out searching for a new job.

"We're expecting a high volume of people coming through who are already employed but might be looking for a change."

The Employment Service will be represented alongside recruitment consultants catering for the top end of the jobs market. Training providers will include Mid-Kent College of Higher and Further Education and the Learning Skills Council.
