Wards Estate Agent’s Get Moving campaign: Donating £50k to Kent’s schools for sports equipment

In its 100 years on Kent’s high streets, Wards Estate Agent has always put the community at the centre of its focus - and its latest initiative has continued the same theme.

Get Moving with Wards will support Kent’s primary schools with £50,000 in grants to help pay for much-needed sports equipment as well as promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle for pupils.

Wards knows how important it is for children to have access to high-quality sports equipment and is proud to be able to help make that a reality. The county’s schools can apply for a £1,000 grant directly through the Wards of Kent website, which they can use to fund new sports equipment.

In recent years, Wards has been involved in a number of charitable activities, working with incredible organisations such as Tree of Hope and the Children’s Trust. On top of this, through various fundraising events, including running, swimming, cycling, and charity days - its staff raised an incredible £100,000 last year alone.

In 2023, as part of its Cost-of-Living Support Fund, Wards - part of the Arun Estates Network - also donated over £750,000 to local food banks and dedicated time to packing emergency food parcels. This initiative, which provided crucial support to those in serious need, came just months after a massive £1m donation to Barnardo’s to support Kent’s most vulnerable children.

Get Moving with Wards is yet another way that Wards is working to improve Kent communities.

Aldo Sotgiu, group managing director, said “Get Moving with Wards is all about improving the quality of PE lessons and helping children find a passion for sports early.

“We are so grateful to be able to support our local primary schools and give back in a time where schools are facing difficulties in funding.”

Aldo urges primary schools across Kent to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity by applying for a £1,000 Get Moving grant - so, if you know of a school that could benefit from new sports equipment, ask them to visit the link below and apply.
