Slightly further down the ranks Ashford sits in 9th place - which can be mainly attributed it coming second place for the quality of pet groomers in the area and 6th for pet shops.

However, Ashford ranked incredibly low for days out, sitting at 129th.

Following this, Canterbury came 26th place on the national ranking and 16th place for pet friendly restaurants.

Settling much lower, Maidstone came in 48th place overall, with a balance of coming 16th for vet ratings but 127th for days out.

Lastly, Folkestone sits at 87th place with the worst garden score in the South East at 127th and 115th for training centres.

The county's neighbouring London towns rank as the worst places to have a pet in the UK due to the lack of garden space and smaller property sizes.
