There may have been three suspected migrant cases today.
The Home Office this afternoon said it was dealing with incidents off Kent and Sussex.
A spokesman said: Border Force is currently dealing with three ongoing small boat incidents off the Kent and Sussex coasts.
"Further details will be provided once the situation has been resolved."
Coastguards said earlier today they helped deal with two migrant incidents.
Both were off the Kent coast.
A spokesman said this morning: "We have been assisting Border Force with two incidents off the Kent coast this morning.
"HM Coastguard is committed to safeguarding life around the seas and coastal areas of this country.
"We are only concerned with preservation of life, rescuing those in trouble and bringing them safely back to shore, where they will be handed over to the relevant partner emergency services or authorities."
Kent Online is waiting for full details from the Home Office.
