Road closed following accident on A259 in Old Romney

An accident involving a car and two motorbikes closed a main route for most of the day.

The A259 in Old Romney shut just before 12pm while emergency services dealt with the incident.

It caused long delays in the surrounding area.

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 11.49am to a collision reported to involve two motorbikes and a car on the A259 in Old Romney.

"Officers are in attendance alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"A road closure is being enforced and motorists are advised to expect delays and, where possible, consider using an alternative route."
