A cyclist has been taken to hospital following a collision on a busy stretch of road.
Paramedics were called to the incident on the A259 near the Brenzett Roundabout shortly after 11am.
The crash happened just a few hundred metres away from another incident earlier this month on a nearby stretch where a motorcyclist lost their life.
Traffic was reportedly unable to pass in Straight Lane, Brookland this morning while medics responded to the incident near the Shell petrol garage on the road to Rye.
An ambulance spokesperson confirmed crews assessed and treated the cyclist at the scene close to the roundabout which links the A259 and A2070.
They were taken to William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment.
It led to drivers facing long tailbacks while crews, as well as police, attended the incident.
The crash comes just weeks after a motorcyclist died following a crash less than 500 metres away on the A259.
The fatal accident happened near Tickner’s Lane on the New Romney side of the road on April 12.
