Police have uncovered a sprawling cannabis farm during a raid of an industrial unit.
More than 2,000 plants were discovered at the site in Dengemarsh Road, Lydd, on Romney Marsh, after officers executed a warrant following reports of criminal activity in the area.
A large amount of harvested cannabis bud was also found on Wednesday morning, along with cultivating equipment, fans and lighting.
Two arrests were made as part of the investigation.
“Thai Son Dang, 31, and Toan Ta, 32, both of no fixed address, were each charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis,” a police spokesman said.
Both men appeared at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court yesterday where they were remanded in custody.
The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on January 20.
