A main road near a pub was closed in both directions after a crash.

Traffic had been queuing outside The Ship Inn in Dymchurch following the smash earlier this afternoon.

Police and ambulance crews are in attendance along the A259 but it is not yet known how many vehicles are involved.

The road reopened around 5.20pm.

A staff member at the pub told KentOnline: “I just looked out there and traffic is backed up all the way along the road.

“I’m not sure exactly what’s happened but there is one police car and an ambulance at the scene.

“It looks as if they are slowly trying to let people through but it’s moving very slowly at the moment.”

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before discharging them from our care.”

Police have been contacted for further details.
