Woman dies in crash near Romney Marsh

A woman in her 70s has died after her car was involved in a collision.

The death occurred at Snave, near Romney Marsh, at around 8.30am yesterday.

A blue Vauxhall Corsa driving along the coast-bound A2070 was involved in a collision with a silver Kia Sportage which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Corsa, a woman aged in her 70s from London, died at the scene.

The occupants of the Kia, a woman and a 10-year-old boy, both suffered serious injuries and were taken to a London hospital. Neither are believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and ask that anyone who saw the collision, or the vehicles travelling beforehand, call 01622 798538 quoting DS/MW/92/18.
