Fire treated as arson at a Hythe Road holiday park in Dymchurch

Two mobile homes were torched at a holiday park over the weekend.

The two caravans were set alight at the park in Hythe Road, Dymchurch at about 7.45pm on Sunday.

The mobile homes, which were both new, were torched the car park of New Beach Holiday Park.

Kent Police confirmed nobody was injured and the caravans were unoccupied.

Officers would like to speak to a man seen in the vicinity of the mobile homes shortly before the blaze.

He is described as wearing a baggy grey hooded top.

They would also like to hear from anyone with information about the fire or who saw anyone acting suspiciously nearby.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed an investigation is underway.

The spokesman added: "An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire involving several mobile homes at a holiday park in Hythe Road, Dymchurch.

"KFRS was called at 7.48pm and three fire engines attended.

"Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using hose reel jets and main jets.

"They left the scene at 9.27pm."
