A woman in her 60s died after going in the sea at Dymchurch yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to a report of a person in the water at about 3.45pm.

The Coastguard, fire crews and paramedics also joined the operation, but a woman was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.

Officers say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report is now being prepared for the coroner.
