Golfers raised a staggering £12,000 for charity while competing in challenges in a day full of competition.
In total, 22 teams participated in Golf Day at Prince’s in Sandwich, in aid of Martha Trust, a Deal charity, which helps support people with profound disabilities.
Former West Indies and Kent cricketer John Shepherd and Arsenal Talent ID Coordinator Steve Brown hosted the event.
Golfers from Holland, London, Southampton, Northampton, Essex, and Surrey participated in the day's competition.
Eight points separated the top three, with Swingers Club coming in first, Country Carpets second and Pat’s So Slow in third.
Around £3,900 was raised through a charity auction with prizes such as a four-ball at Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club in Deal.
Kerry Banks BEM, fundraising and events manager for the trust, said: “We are delighted that the day was such an enormous success and are so incredibly grateful to Princes Golf Club and the golfing community for rallying around to help us stage such a special day.
“The golfers were in high spirits and we’ve had some fabulous feedback!
“A huge thank you to Prince’s Golf Club, Rob and Ali McGuirk, Sam Smith, and all the staff who made the event possible.”
“We simply couldn’t do what we do without your amazing support!”
Superior Healthcare Group and Big Shot Golf were this year’s main sponsors, with the team from Barclays UK providing match funding.
Martha Trust will hold its next golf day on Friday, April 24 2026, at Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club.
