The Five Bells, Lower Street, Eastry is hosting a charity beer festival for Kent Air Ambulance.

The Five Bells in Eastry is hosting a charity beer festival to raise money for Kent Air Ambulance.

Landlady Mary Franks, 53, has organised the event to coincide with her sixth anniversary of opening the pub.

It will run from Good Friday to Easter Monday and will see a variety of music acts as well as children’s activities each day.

On Monday, the cash collected over the year will be presented to the air ambulance.

Mrs Franks said: “I wanted to celebrate six years in the pub. I’ve had a lot of support from my family and my brother Reg Franks. A lot of people have helped me which is why I’m surviving.”

The Five Bells, Lower Street, will be celebrating with a barbecue and live performances from Joe Scott and Andy Mac on Good Friday, and the Deal Hoodeners and Happy Daze on Saturday.

Easter Sunday will see an Easter egg hunt at 11am, followed by a raffle, and a performance from the Celtic Capers at 2pm.

At 6pm there will be a beer quiz followed by a karaoke session at 8pm, and on Easter Monday there will be a cheque presentation to finish off the weekend.

Mrs Franks, 53, raises money for a different charity each year and lets her customers decide which one to choose.
