Bowlers grab slice of national glory

SANDWICH Bowling Club have been celebrating after eight members of the Millwall Place club triumphed in the Double Fours event at the EBA national championships in Worthing in west Sussex.

After battling their way through nine regional rounds, and then the semi-finals at the Sandwich team defeated Shepshed Town in the final to become only the second Kent club to lift the trophy.

The club follows in the footsteps of Blackheath & Greenwich who were the winners in 1993.
