A busy route was closed following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

The A258 Sandwich Road in Deal was blocked in both directions due to the collision.

A person near the scene said: “It looks like it is outside the car garage [Highway Auto Centre].

“Everyone is turning around.”

Reports suggest there were long delays in the area.

But the route has since been cleared and traffic is flowing through again.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to a three-vehicle collision in Sandwich Road at Hacklinge, near Deal, at 12.55pm today.

“Officers attended and assisted with traffic management and the recovery of the three vehicles.

“No serious injuries were reported.”
