Fire crews remove 4,000 litres of water from sinking boat on River Stour in Sandwich

Fire crews spent four hours removing 4,000 litres of water from a sinking boat on a river.

Three engines and a water safety unit responded to the incident on the River Stour in Sandwich shortly after midnight today.

They worked until 4am using submersible pumps before handing the vessel, moored off Richborough Road, back to the owner.

No casualties were reported.
