Futures for Dogs holds photo competition to raise cash to pay for 11 rescue dogs

A dog rehoming organisation, fearful that Tier 4 will cripple it, is appealing for entries into its fundraising photo competition to keep tails wagging

Sandwich based good cause Futures for Dogs had to cancel its 15th annual dog show because of the pandemic but is determined to "end the year on a high."

A volunteer who we are not naming said its canine foster carers are looking after 11 pooches who were previously abused or neglected and the online picture contest will raise vital funds to pay for vet bills, food and medicine.

She said: "We only have a few categories, unlike our annual show in Sandwich, but we hope this will give our supporters- some who live miles away - an opportunity to join in the fun as well.

"You don’t have to be a professional photographer. Your pet does not have to be a rescue dog to be able to enter. We just want to see your love of dogs and raise some funds and can’t wait to see lots of wonderful pictures of your pets."

The entries will be judged by Futures for Dogs supporter actor Cameron Jack and his partner Maisey Bawden who is making her first screen debut on Sky One’s You, Me and the Apocalypse.

Class 1 to 6 will have first, second and third places and winners will receive a fabulous rosette.

These classes are:

  • 1 Prettiest Bitch
  • 2 Handsome Male
  • 3 Family favourites (Can include household family and /or other pets with your dogs)

  • 5 Dogs with signs. We have all seen these norty or cute pets with their placards saying hello or what they have done
