It is not known if the lorry came from the port of Dover or where the suspected migrants are from.

This comes just days after three people who were thought to be migrants from Iran were rescued from a small boat in the English Channel and brought to Dover.

This was the third case of suspected migrants being picked up in vessels off the south east coast over the last few weeks.

On Tuesday last week June 7 three other people, also believed to be Iranians, were spotted in a small boat from a ferry on the Channel and taken in by the Border Force.

On May 28, a total 18 Albanian children and adults were rescued from a sinking boat off Dymchurch.
