Theft of two handbags with cash and cards s at Fleur De Lis pub, Delf Street, Sandwich

A warning has been put out after two handbags were stolen from a pub.

Taken with them, from the staff area, were cash and bank cards.

It happened at the Fleur De Lis in Delf Street, Sandwich, at around 6.50pm on Sunday.

Manager Richard Harris put out a warning on Facebook saying the suspect was filmed on five CCTV cameras and the incident was reported to police.

The suspect left heading towards Sandwich railway station, using the victim's cards at 8.37pm in Ramsgate.

Mr Harris said on his post: "If anyone or anywhere else has had any stolen items that day, it may be the same person and it would be helpful if the police can receive all evidence.

"We've contacted police and have provided CCTV.

"It's a shame this has happened but (we are) just trying to let people know and if anyone else has any information please contact the police."

The value of what was stolen has not been disclosed.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police are investigating after two handbags containing cash and bank cards were stolen from the staff area.

"Officers are carrying out enquiries, which includes the review of CCTV."
