Tickets for Friday at The 149th Open have sold out as demand to watch golf at Sandwich next summer continues to rise.
It means tickets only remain on sale for the Championship Thursday with Saturday and Sunday tickets having already sold out earlier this year.
The Open takes place at Royal St George’s from July 16 to 19 in 2020 and is already the fastest selling to date with weekly and weekend bundles snapped up in record time. More than 200,000 spectators will attend the event.
The most recent winner of The Open in Kent was Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke, who won the Claret Jug in 2011 at Royal St George’s.
Shane Lowry will be looking to defend the title after he won The Open at Royal Portrush earlier this year.
To buy a ticket for Thursday, July 16 at The Open, visit their website here. Prices are £85 for adults, £42.50 for youths and under-16s go free – subject to availability. You can purchase up to four tickets per person.
Meanwhile, Matt Jones, Aaron Pike and Takumi Kanaya have secured their places for St George’s after qualifying at the Australian Open earlier this month.
The next event in The Open qualifying series will be the South African Open in early January.
