Car driver failed to stop after striking cyclist in Halstead near Sevenoaks

Police are appealing for help after a car failed to stop at the scene of a crash.

The vehicle, thought to be a cream-coloured Mini, drove off after striking a cyclist in Halstead near Sevenoaks.

It happened in Watercroft Road, last Thursday, and a man in his 70s, riding towards Knockholt Rail Station was injured.

The vehicle made off towards Cadlocks Hill.

The cyclist suffered serious back and shoulder injuries.

PC Charlotte Wilson said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to call the appeal line.

"We are also asking motorists with dash-cam, who were in the area at the time, to check for footage that may assist our investigation."
