Balaclava-clad gang bungle robbery at Vodafone shop in Sevenoaks High Street

Witnesses are being sought after reports a balaclava-clad gang attempted to raid a phone shop.

Four suspects, including three teenage boys, were arrested after an attempted break-in at the Vodafone store in Sevenoaks on Friday (March 7).

Officers were called to reports of suspicious activity at around 4.30pm after three people were alleged to have tried to force their way into the stock room.

They left empty-handed and shortly after got in a blue Ford Focus parked nearby.

But, within 40 minutes, the vehicle, which contained the fourth suspect, was located and stopped with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police near Welling.

A 29-year-old man from Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire and three teenage boys from southeast London were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken into custody.

They are currently bailed with conditions while detectives gather further evidence.

Officers are urging witnesses, including businesses and residents with CCTV and doorbell footage and drivers with dashcam video, to contact police to help in the investigation.

Officers are particularly keen to retrieve any that may show the suspects’ movements between 4.20pm and 4.40pm, within areas of Beech Road, London Road and the High Street.
