A man was taken to a London hospital after he was seriously injured in a crash following a police chase.

The accident happened at 8.30pm last night on the A25 Westerham Road, near the junction with Larkfield Road in Riverhead, near Sevenoaks.

The injured man was driving a silver Ford Fiesta when it collided with a black Land Rover Defender.

Kent Police has confirmed the Fiesta was being pursued by officers prior to the crash, and a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who has CCTV or and dashcam footage, to come forward.
