This comes after a yellow weather warning was issued across Kent for the rest of the weekend.

The Met Office alert predicts there will be icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

It adds: "An area of rain and snow will linger over south-east England on Sunday, leading to some icy stretches and some travel disruption.

"Some roads and railways are likely to be affected, with longer journey times by road, bus and train services."

The Met Office also predicts a number of people to get injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

Gritters were on the roads across Kent last night and this morning ahead of the cold snap.

In response to the forecasts, bosses from Knole country park in Sevenoaks have decided to close the site's car park.

Kent County Council's highways department released a picture of Sevenoaks in the snow and warned people to take extra care on the roads.
