Gareth Willis will be contesting Sevenoaks on behalf of the Lib Dems.

Mr Willis, 47, is a teacher and house master at Sevenoaks School, where he lives.

With a degree in Geography from the University of Manchester and a Masters from the Institute of Education, Mr Willis is passionate about education.

A teacher for 25 years since 1994, he is also a governor at a local primary school.

He started his teaching career at a North Kent grammar school, but has been at the private Sevenoaks School since 2002.

His current school attracts students from all over the world and Mr Willis said he relishes the truly international nature of environment he works in. A key element of his role is to foster international cooperation within the student body with wide ranging perspectives from different societies and cultures.

An enthusiastic European, he believes passionately that the country is stronger remaining in the EU.

He is also very concerned about the environment and fully supports Sevenoaks Lib Dem councillors in working towards declaring a climate emergency and pushing local climate action up the agenda.

He said: "Housing is clearly a major issue in the constituency and it is important that we continue to work towards a sustainable, balanced policy that provide a range of housing options for our community."

He said he loves travel and using his Mountain Leader Qualification he has led trips in Africa, South America and the Far East.

In his spare time he is an enthusiastic sportsman enjoying football, running and cricket.

The other candidates in Sevenoaks are Sean Finch (Libertarian Party), Paulette Furse (Ind), Seamus McCauley (Lab), Laura Trott (Con) and Paul Wharton (Green).
