Drivers heading into Kent from Surrey on the M25 faced long delays this morning following a smash involving some seven vehicles.

Traffic was stopped on anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 6 for Godstone and junction 5 near Sevenoaks for the A21 and M26 from around 9.30am.

However, disruption was exacerbated when ambulances struggled to reach the scene, due to drivers ignoring lane closures.

Police then pleaded with drivers on social media to allow crews to reach the scene.

The carriageway reopened just after 11.30am.
