Tonbridge Road in Sevenoaks closed between Oak Lane and Solefields outside Sevenoaks School

A busy Sevenoaks road has been reopened following a lorry fire this morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the blaze in the High Street just after 8.30am.

The road was closed between Oaks Lane and Solefields while crews tackled the flames.

It is believed the vehicle was just outside Sevenoaks School.

A Kent Police spokesman said officers are still on scene but the road has now been reopened.

A safety zone remains around the site.

The lorry was reportedly not involved in an accident. The cause of the fire still remains unknown.
