The M25 was closed after a woman was spotted on the wrong side of the barrier on a bridge over the motorway.

Police shut the route between junctions 5 for the M26 and junction 6 for Godstone after being called at about 10am.

Officers at the scene were helped by members of the public and were able to bring the woman to safety.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.

The road is now clear.
