Police appeal following arson attack in Sevenoaks

Two men were seen fleeing with their clothes on fire as a car went up in flames on a driveway in Sevenoaks .

Officers were called at around 9.10pm on Wednesday to a report that a car was on fire in Garth Road - the second arson at the location in recent weeks.

Fire crews also attended and put out the blaze.

DC Tony Hatcher of Tonbridge CID said: "This is the second suspected arson in this location and we have been making house-to-house inquiries and completing forensic examinations to track down the offenders.

"Our investigations have identified that two men ran along Garth Road at the time of the fire and that one of them may have had some clothing that was alight.

"We are appealing for information about anyone who was seen in possession of burnt clothing after the date of the incident, or anybody who has suffered recent and unexplained burn injuries.

"Our investigators are also urging anyone who was in the area between 7pm and 10pm and saw anything suspicious or unusual to call the appeal line."

Additionally, motorists who may have been in the area are asked to check for any dashcam footage and local residents are requested to view home security CCTV or doorbell cameras for anything that may assist the investigation.
