Woman in 80s injured in hit-and-run crash on London Road in Dunton Green

A woman in her 80s is in a serious condition in hospital after a hit-and-run.

It is understood the driver of the Vauxhall Insignia involved initially stopped at the scene in Dunton Green, near Sevenoaks, before driving off, parking in a nearby street and fleeing.

A spokesman said: "The pedestrian, a woman in her 80s from the Sevenoaks area, was treated for injuries and then conveyed to a local hospital where she remains in a serious condition."

The accident happened on London Road near its junction with Mill Road at around 7.30pm on Friday.

The spokesman added: "Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the incident and the identity of the driver, and are urging anyone who saw the car or the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the collision, or who have dashcam footage from the area around the time, to contact them.

"The investigators would also like to hear from anybody who saw the vehicle being parked in Mill Road after the collision."
