A suspect was located in a car park in Hitchen Hatch Lane and arrested.

It is alleged the man then assaulted two of the officers, one of whom he racially abused.

He was taken to Tonbridge Police Station, where it is further alleged he spat at some of those present, and assaulted two more officers.

Following the incident on Wednesday, Joshua Young, of Hurst Way, Sevenoaks, was charged with five counts of assaulting an emergency worker, a racially aggravated assault on a police officer and a public order offence.

He was also charged with breaching a Stalking Prevention Order on March 26.

The 28-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday and was remanded in custody ahead of a future crown court date.
