Sevenoaks swimming centre evacuated after roof fire

Swimmers at a Sevenoaks leisure centre have been evacuated after a fire.

Crews were called to Sevenoaks Swimming Centre in Buckhurst Lane at 11.44am on Saturday in four fire engines and a height vehicle following reports of a blaze in the roof of the building.

They used a fan to clear smoke from the first floor and the fire was eventually brought under control by 1pm, containing the blaze to the plant room of the premises used as a swimming pool.
