A woman who fell from a bridge above the A21 has died.

The incident happened near Gracious Lane Bridge in Sevenoaks around 6.10am today forcing road closures which have now been lifted.

The 37-year-old who was from the Sevenoaks area died at the scene, police have confirmed, and her next of kin have been informed.

Officers and ambulance crews attended the incident implementing road closures in both directions, between the junctions for the A25, Westerham and Morley's roundabout near Hildenborough.

The coastbound A21 reopened at around 1.35pm, followed by the Londonbound carriageway at 6pm.

Detective Sergeant Suzie Basford said: "We are still working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.

"It is not being treated as suspicious, however we believe there may be motorists with important information.

"Anyone who used the A21 in this area between 6am and 6.30am is asked to contact us if they believe they saw or experienced anything unusual whilst driving. Please also check vehicles for any signs of involvement in this incident."
