The dumping of two adorable puppies that were found in a bucket off a busy road during the heatwave has sparked outrage.
The three-month-old pups were found left to their fate off the A2500 Lower Road in Minster, on Sheppey, as temperatures soared yesterday (June 30).
The two Spaniel-type dogs were discovered as the heat reached 30 degrees in the county.
An amber weather warning is in place until this evening, as some parts of Kent are expected to be hotter than Ibiza.
The good Samaritan who uncovered the abandoned animals raised the alarm with Swale council’s stray dog service, which rescued the canines.
They were both given a health check by a vet, and while they are in good condition, the animals have not been microchipped.
The service is now appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 01795 417850. Proof of ownership will be required for the puppies' release.
When the service posted its appeal to its social media page more than 200 comments were made.
Many of the people responding were fuming at the “cruel” dumping.
One said: “Dumping those two gorgeous boys on one of the hottest days of the year! My blood boils.”
Another person said: “Unbelievable! Why not take them to a rescue? Glad they're safe and hopefully they'll get great homes like they deserve.”
Meanwhile, someone else said: “They are gorgeous, how can people be so cruel?”
